So the humans sent in my picture to the place they adopted me from called the Wisconsin Humane Society and I appear in their 2009 calendar! I didn’t get on the cover or a big month picture, but I am in the calendar itself. If you are interested you can order one here. The proceeds go to help all the animals at the shelter and would make a great gift for all the animal lovers on your list.

In other news, I am waiting for that white stuff to fall already. I keep getting my hopes up but only get flurries. Nothing I can sink my paws or snout into it. I am looking forward to turkey day with my doggie cousins in the mountains. If I don’t woof with you before I go, hope you have a happy turkey day! gobble gobble woof woof!

As promised here’s a picture of me in my Howl-o-ween costume. What I won’t do for treats. Woof!

That fun howl-i-day is coming up called Howl-o-ween. I can’t wait! I could do without the humans dressing me up but I am secretly excited to not be a pumpkin again this year. I got a brand new costume and I’m going as a pirate! Daddy got to choose my costome this year, as you can probably guess. If it were up to mommy I’d probably go as something girly like a princess or a bumble bee. I have two howl-o-ween parties to go to and one is coming up next week already. Grammy already sent me a howl-o-ween care package with some yummy bones. I love this time of year. I know after this comes that big turkey eating day - what dog wouldn’t love that? This year I am traveling to North Carolina for the big turkey day. I love road trips and I’ll get to see all my doggie cousins! Yipee! No leashes - auntie has a doggie door just for us dogs. What a concept, I think all humans should put them in! So that’s the update from Cosmo’s corner. I’ll bark at ya later when I’m done partying. Woof woof woof

I know I’ve been woofing about the new park and how great it is, well on Saturday the humans took me again and I got a reminder that I’m not a young pup anymore. We were walking along, sniffing everything, peeing on everything that needed it, and enjoying a good frolic when all of the sudden half way thru my walk something happened to make me start limping. I held up my right front paw and tried walking on 3 legs, I’ve seen other dogs do that but not quite sure how they do it as it’s hard. The humans checked me out but didn’t find anything so I just had to tough it out. Once I got home I rested up and it got better, but not completely gone. There was talk of not letting me go to the outing on Sunday (see mom’s blog post for details. I didn’t like the sound of that one bit so I rested up and by morning I was feeling better and got to go! Woof Woof!

Yesterday after work (the humans work, I nap), the humans took me to yet another new park. Can you beleive it? It just opened up and it’s wooferful! I give it two paws up and a tail wag. It has nice wide paths with grass on both sides, some ponds, and lots of new things to smell and check out. I was in dog heaven. I hope I get to go back there again soon. Right now I have to get back to my nap. I need to be rested up for whenever the next car ride, walk, or treat comes around. Woof! Woof!

“I own the house, the humans pay the mortgage”

The humans took me to this new park the other day. It’s a nice one with nice big grassey trails and lots of new smells and places to run. It wasn’t very busy probably cuz it’s new and not a lot of people know about it yet so I got to run free and didn’t need that crazy long thing that goes around my neck and then the human’s have to run to try and keep up with me. I much prefer going at my own pace and leaving the humans in my dust. We went there twice so far, I hope another visit is in my future. Me likey.

That’s what I give a visit from my Grammy. She brought me some yummy treats, bones, and a new toy! I am a lucky girl. I like when Grammy and Auntie N visit. I get lots of attention and it’s fun to play. We went to the corn maze together. It was really hot but I made it pretty far. I don’t think the humans could make it without my lead. I am catching up on my sleep now. I am tired out from all of the entertaining I’ve been doing. After all, I have to make it fun for them so they visit again. Next time I hope to visit them in Florida so I can seee my cousin Kendall again and meet my new couin Sigi. I heard that I’m going to North Carolina for Thanksgiving this year so I get to see all my beagle cousins. I love to travel so I can’t wait. Plus if I’m not mistaken I think Thanksgiving means that yummy turkey stuff and if I’m cute and good I might get some in my bowl.

Bow wow wow, ruff ruff! That’s right, it’s my birthday! I woke up to a something special in my bowl for breakfast. It was one of my favorites called Grandma’s country stew. Yum! I went for a walk at lunch and for tonight I heard the human’s saying something about treats and some presents. Woof hoo! I had cake on Saturday and got to blow out my special candle that is shaped like a bone. I’ve been partying for several days now that is why I’ve been napping a lot. These have been the best 4 years of my life. I hvae the best humans a dog could ask for (but don’t tell them that, they might let it go to their head). Off to celebrate. Bark at ya later.

The humans bought me these new treats called Yummy Chummies. They are salmon flavored and I love them!! I hope the humans continue to keep those stocked on the shelf. I can’t get enough of them. Maybe I will get some for my birthday. The humans don’t like the smell of them so I hope that doesn’t mean I won’t get them anymore. Sometimes what they eat doesn’t smell too good to me either. Ok, ok, I’m kidding, I love all their food.

I’ll admit that I am always up for a ride in the car. The humans just need to go near my collar and I’m waiting by the door rearing to go. 9 times out of 10 I am going to a good place to run thru the grass and trees. Well, yesterday was that 1 time when I didn’t get to go to a fun place. They took me to the dreaded poke and prod place. The humans call it the vet. I knew right when we pulled up that I wasn’t going to like it much. I tried to stay outside but nope, the humans wouldn’t let me. They dragged me inside and then I have to wait with all the other animals that don’t want to be there either. Finally someone calls my name. I look around to make sure he really was talking to me in hopes there was another Cosmo, but alas there was not. He was looking right at me. So we go back into this room and he asks the humans all kinds of questions and then takes me in back and puts me on this big thing that tells him how much I’ve been eating or something like that. He returns me to the humans and I hope it’s all over but nope, next another human comes in and pokes and prods all over me. Just when I think she is done she does it some more. I hear something about how I’ve gained 4 lbs and need to lose a pound or two. Hey, I’m still carrying some holiday weight. Isn’t everyone? Jeesh. It was finally over and the humans took me out for a walk on the way home. Finally, what a ride should be. Note to humans: Take your pet places they like, not the dreaded vet. Note to canines: Beware, not all rides are fun. I’m off now to take a nap and sleep off the whole ordeal. Bow wow, Woof!
